Job Description
The S&H Vocational Consultant manages and coordinates claimant/client needs related to the vocational case management of workers' compensation and long term disability cases via in-person contact with all parties involved in the claimants treatment and rehabilitative process.
The S&H Vocational Consultant employs the essential activities of case management, including assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, evaluation, monitoring, outcomes management and applying general case management principles.
The S&H Vocational Consultant is assigned a caseload, based not only on numbers of cases, but on acuity as well. This position is field-based.
Desired Skills & Experience
Assess the physical, functional, social, psychological, formal and informal support systems, environmental and financial needs of the claimant/client.
Identify the needs of the claimant/client file as determined appropriate and effectively communicate those needs to all involved parties (claimant/client, physicians, payer source, employers, attorneys).
Develop a cost-effective, comprehensive plan that meets the needs of the individual, while remaining within the benefit structure of the payer source. Assist with problem-solving to enhance the ultimate return to work of the claimant/client.
Coordinate and implement appropriate services and/or interventions within the benefits abailable to the claimant/client. Provide referrals to appropriate community resources when indicated.
Education/Training/Licensing
Current drivers license, own auto insurance policy for liability coverage. CRC mandatory and at minimum, eligible to obtain LPC.
Two years minimum vocational rehabilitation experience PLUS prior case management experience. Spanish bilingual a PLUS!! Will consider hiring a new graduate from an accredited Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling program.
