Description of Employer Services
- Telephonic Review of Job Description – The employer is contacted upon file referral for Medical Case Management to obtain a specific and detailed written job description. Because of our Employer Services Consultant’s background in Occupational Therapy and clinical expertise in Work Conditioning and Work Hardening, she is uniquely experienced and capable of obtaining a thorough written job description from the employer.
- On-Site Job Analysis – A job analysis is performed when questions arise as to whether an injured worker/insured can perform their job duties or to address causation issues. S&H routinely includes a video of the job as part of this written analysis. The analysis can also be reviewed with the physician to assist in securing a release, establishing a base line for a work hardening program or to provide an opinion regarding issues of causation. This product includes a video as well as a detailed report outlining the essential functions and required physical demands of the job.
- Ergonomic Analysis – This evaluation of the injured employee's work area is made to determine if modifications of the work station/area can be made to accommodate the injured worker/insured’s medical restrictions and allow for a successful return to work. Photos can be taken before and after the analysis is completed, to document improvement.
- Work Site Injury Prevention – The Employer Services Consultant will evaluate the worksite with the goal of identifying problem areas conducive to producing injuries or repetitive conditions in the workplace
- Job Bank – The S&H Employer Services Consultant performs ADA specific job analysis (including video) of all positions in a company for purposes of accurate documentation of the physical requirements of each position. This job bank can then be referred to when coordinating light duty, provided to the therapist for coordinating FCEs, utilized as a resource immediately for case management and physicians when an employee is injured and to clarify any potential jobs that would benefit from modification to minimize injury in the workplace.
This Job Bank can also be shared with the Occupational Health Clinics/MDs treating the employer’s injured workers, to minimize confusion regarding the injured workers’ job duties and maximize RTW dialogue from Day 1 after a work injury.
- Design Job Specific Stretching Programs – The S&H Employer Services Consultant can design a Job or Task – specific body mechanics or ergonomic training program for the workplace. The S&H Employer Services Consultant can also assist with implementation and ongoing training to ensure the success of the stretching program.
- Design Light or Modified Duty Written Procedure – The S&H Employer Services Consultant can assist an employer with development and preparation of their specific light duty written procedure.
- Transitional Return to Work Program – The S&H Employer Services Consultant works in conjunction with the treating physician, case manager and the employer to facilitate modified duty recommended by the physician. The Employer Services Consultant will facilitate transitional duty either via reduced hours or reduced physical demands.
- RTW Consultation – The S&H Employer Services Consultant can work with your employees on an individual basis to review and refresh proper body mechanics and ergonomics to ensure a safe and effective RTW. This service can minimize chances for a failed RTW, or when your employee is beginning to incur absences upon RTW that they attribute to their job of injury.
